Vehicle Description
Redesigned for 1973, Chevrolet's Monte Carlo personal luxury coupe stunned onlookers with its long hood, sculped body accents and that must-have design cue of the mid-1970s -- opera windows. This handsome design lasted through 1977.
Here we have a nicely-equipped, mostly original 1975 Monte Carlo . As this was the last year of the single round headlights, most Monte enthusiasts prefer this front end to that of the next few years that had stacked rectangular headlights.
Boasting a very solid and arrow-straight body, this Monte Carlo is still finished in its gleaming and original Medium Red hue that's accented with a Black landau-style vinyl top. The various chrome and stainless-steel pieces shine brilliantly and the car is finished off nicely with chrome Rally wheels fitted with Cooper white-letter radials. The very clean trunk still retains its original spatter paint with no rust evident and still houses the original spare tire, jack assembly and trunk mat.
The original interior is impressive from the headliner to the carpet, with the upholstery, dash and door panels all in very nice condition. Factory A/C along with an AM/FM/8-Track stereo make for comfortable and entertaining cruising. The key buzzer and seat belt "buckle up" buzzer are both still operational.
Under the proud hood sits the original 350 4-barrel V8 matched to a TH350 automatic transmission. Underway, the Monte is a smooth operator, with plenty of power and no noises or smoke coming from the powertrain. A custom dual exhaust was fitted a few years ago and sports dual chrome tips. It frees up some horsepower and provides a muscular but not obnoxious soundtrack.
Note that the Monte Carlo is currently being serviced and then going into detailing where the minor bubbles under the vinyl top will be addressed. As such, this gorgeous Monte Carlo will be turn-key ready for its next owner to enjoy, whether going on a weekend road trip or bringing back memories at a local Cars and Coffee event.
