Vehicle Description 1967 Buick Skylark Convertible Known for its prolonged singing while soaring, the European Skylark is often seen hovering over large farmland expanses and open country. The Skylark line of automobiles produced by Buick, from 1953 through 1998, has seen many variations and iterations of design and performance. Soaring over roads, this Skylark has sung its tune for a few generations, some of the hippest during the 1960's. This 1967 convertible example of the Buick Skylark provides the viewer of it with a combination of 1960's cool, and early muscle cars disguised as family sedans. One of 6,319 produced convertibles, not counting the ones that are no longer with us it is definitely lower!  Coming to our Hallowed Halls showing 86,468 non verifiable miles on the odometer as the title reads exempt, it's time to soak up the sun with the top down and reacquaint yourself with the back road of the good old USA, let's soar kids! Exterior An Apple Red repaint, a color change, covers the exterior surfaces. Presenting with some scrapes and dings, the exterior presents nicely but does have some slight areas of orange peel paint, a few touched up chips and at the lower doors, just a smidgeon of body work is noted at the bottom of the driver's door.  The iconic Buick trio of front quarter venting now move to the lower fender and are reduced in count by 1 on the car, are covered in chrome and cant rearward on the slab steel sided body.  The grille, dual headlights and surrounds are in good condition with mirror like finishes and we note BUICK in block letters across the leading edge of the hood and the Buick Tri-Shield hood ornament. A black canvas top is clean with no tears or rips, and the rear window shows a few areas of fogging. We note this top can be electrically raised and lowered. Highly polished chrome laden Buick rally wheels in 14-inch format are wrapped in deeply treaded tires. A rocker trim runs the length of the lower part of this car, connecting the wheel arch moldings and shows in good condition as well. Front and rear bumpers are blemish free. Interior With the top down, the world is our oyster...well just the interior actually. The interior vinyl is in excellent condition with only light wear on the driver's lower cushion. Beautiful black vinyl vertical ribbing is covering the split bench seat in front, and bench seating in back.  Also, plenty of buttons lined up on the backs and are just fab! Door panels show black vinyl trimming, horizontal ribbing, the Skylark crest in red and chrome, and have plenty of chrome accenting attached even encompassing the row of power window rocker switches. A panel of black carpet is on the bottom. The dash chrome and black trim is in good condition with just slight tarnish and minor scratching; however all gauges and knobs are clear. The upper padded dash is crack free and in black and we note the round ball vents for the heat and AC at the base of the dash. Black carpet floods the floors and remains in very good condition. Drivetrain A 300ci V8, fully dipped in chipped and aged aqua paint is now within the original engine bay. This mill is fed by a 2-barrel carburetor under the single snout factory air cleaner assembly.  This is attached to a ST300 2-speed automatic transmission, which is correct for this car. A 10 bolt axle is in the rear and takes the power hand off and spins the tires via 2.78 gears. Undercarriage Nice and clean with no rust, very structurally sound and lots of black undercoating. Floor pans and rockers are smooth, rust free and straight, however we note a few areas of flooring repair. Power drum brakes are seen all around and we note dampness on the right front wheel, but more on that in the Drive-Ability section.  A like new single exhaust snakes its way rearward and is looking nice and clean. Drive-Ability A quick starter, and effortless drive for the test area. Smooth acceleration, and a sm |
