Vehicle Description

The fins on the 1960 Chevrolets have to be one of my favorites by far when referring to the “Big Fin” cars. Biscayne was named after Biscayne Bay, near Miami which was a trend by GM to name their cars after coastal cities or beaches such as the Bel Air and later the Malibu. Biscaynes were produced primarily for te fleet market, they were also available to the general pubic, particularly to those who wanted low-cost, no frills transportation with the convenience, room and power. This particular car probably would have come with a 6-cylinder car, but don’t worry, this Mechanic built car has installed a very healthy 502 Cubic Inch crate engine from General Motors and mated it to a 4-speed manual transmission. This thing is a wild ride to say the least. It starts right up, idles instantly and has a nice deep throaty tone. It goes down the road nicely with upgraded front disc brakes. Mechanically this ride is dialed in, the paint shows nicely and chrome and brite work is very presentable.
